Then He sent them out . . .

Luke 9:2 NLT Then He sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

As we entered the government run hospital, the hallways were filled beyond capacity with orthopedic patients offering a ready smile and a heart filled with hope.

I filled out intake forms and hung x-rays. One 40-something year old young woman with her young daughter at her side crippled with Rheumatoid arthritis filled with hope for some relief from her daily battle with pain. A tall and slender cowboy with his right knee twisted and mangled from an old fracture filled with hope. A beautiful godly woman that was born with hip dysplasia or congenital hip dislocation that is normally treated at birth filled with hope. Our hearts ached as we prayed with her and deferred her multi-surgical interventions to a more specialized orthopedic surgeon who travels with the team every June.

Scott spent the morning praying with patients and assisting the provider as a second pair of hands. This afternoon, he's learning sterile technique to possibly assist as an extra pair of hands for Monday's surgeries.
